Please extend our thanks to the Barrow Male Voice Choir for a most enjoyable concert on Tuesday. The members all looked so smart and proud in their blue uniforms, and their obvious enjoyment of singing together rubbed off on the audience.
Congratulations, too, to the Director, Deborah Milledge, who held it all together with great enthusiasm, and to you for your excellent and sometimes challenging accompaniment. I often think the accompanist has the hardest part, playing relentlessly for the whole concert!
Please thank William, too, for his lovely performance. He was amazingly calm and unfazed and played beautifully.
I hope we shall see you all here again sometime.
- Judith-Music for a Summer evening, Hawkshead
You created a lovely atmosphere in your performance and displayed some fabulous legato singing, soft singing, and good dynamic contrasts. There was good contact with the conductor, and most diction was clear. I enjoyed the last piece, “What Shall we do with the Drunken Sailor?” as you were enjoying it, and this was infectious.
A mellow and Heartfelt rendition of your first piece.
Some bolstering of the T1 section generally would be of benefit and enhance your
sound, but you do well with the resources you have. Lovely change of Key and you
kept the mood throughout, as you did with all your pieces.
The Drunken Sailor was especially a Highlight, and you worked hard together.
Thank you for bringing your choir to sing today – we all enjoyed your performance.
- Manchester Annual Choral Competition 2025 Competition Judges
We had an amazing evening with the choir who were outstanding; we also had a great turnout and raised £400 for St Mary's Hospice so good news all round. Please pass on our thanks to the choir with a request for a repeat next summer!!
- Keith and Dorothy Coniston Methodist Church
These old walls have witnessed some great music over the years and tonight's singing has been amongst the best.
- Martin - St Cuthbert's Church ,Aldingham
It was a terrific performance which had sumptuous sounds.
There was clarity and meaning in the diction, the chords were carefully balanced and there was a splendid range of tonal colour.
The performance had great heart and character.
